What We Do
We help workplaces and schools create supportive and inclusive partnerships with parents and carers to improve outcomes for children and adults with disabilities. We run workshops in workplaces and schools all over Australia that specialise in empowering staff and parents/carers to work more effectively together.
Travis Saunders has a career in education spanning more than 20 years in primary and secondary schools and private enterprise and has taught children on the autism spectrum all over the world. Fiona Churchman is a communication specialist as well as an award-winning reporter who works to improve diversity in the media. Travis and Fiona have a son with a disability and this drives their determination to improve relationships between parents/carers and those individuals and organisations that educate and provide support to children.
Working with Parents is a solutions focussed organisation that helps create supportive and inclusive parent/carer partnerships with schools, NDIS providers, allied health and medical professionals. Our mission is to empower families and organisations to work better together to help children and adults learn, feel happy, safe, included and connected.
Fiona and Travis have appeared in the media hundreds of times. In addition to being the hosts and producers of The Parenting Spectrum - an ABC podcast about autism and family life, Fiona and Travis love to tell stories about parenting to live audiences and in written, visual and audio form.
